What is Root- Cause Therapy
Root-Cause Therapy (RCT) is a trauma-informed healing modality that gently uncovers and released the original root causes of emotional pain, limiting beliefs and repeating life patterns.
Talk therapy can bring beautiful awareness - Root-Cause Therapy looks deeper
A mind-body healing modality.
Imagine yourself as a tree
The leaves are the things you notice on the surface - the anxiety, overwhelm, people-pleasing, anger. They are the visible signs, but they are not the whole story.
The truck represents the ways you have learned to cope and get through life. These strategies helped you survive.
The soil is the environment you grew in - your childhood experiences, family patterns, the beliefs you absorbed, and the emotional safety you did or didn’t have. If the soil wasn’t nourishing, the tree adapts, but it struggles.
The roots are the deeper, often unconscious patterns that shape how you feel, react, and relate. They hold old emotional imprints, unresolved memories, limiting beliefs, and survival responses that formed long before you had words for them.
When the soil is depleted or the roots are stressed, the whole tree feels it - even if the leaves look “fine”.
Instead let’s look deeper into the root system, let’s nourish the soil so that the truck and the leaves are better supported.
How It Works
We start by gently exploring the original experiences that shaped your current patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses - rather than simply managing symptoms on the surface.
During sessions, I may use a combination of approaches to support this process:
The Sway Test - a body-based awareness tool that helps access the subconscious mind’s responses.
Emotional Code Clearing - a method for identifying and releasing trapped emotional energy.
Somatic Awareness - tuning into the body’s sensations as a guide to where unprocessed experiences may be held
Timeline Work - tracing a pattern back to its initial event, allowed it to be witnessed, processed, and given new meaning.
Nervous System Regulation - supporting the body to feel safe enough to do the deeper work because safety is the foundation of all healing.
It will help you to:
Understand why you feel or behave a certain way
Uncover unresolved emotional memories
Gently release stuck emotional energy
Reframe deeply held beliefs at the root level
Step into a lighter, clearer, more connected version of yourself
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Talk therapy helps you understand your patterns.
Root-Cause Therapy helps you release them - at the root.
Both are powerful. Both have their place. And for many people, RCT is the missing piece that finally allows the healing to land.
-
No. With RCT you remain fully conscious, aware, and in control throughout the entire session. You’re not in a trance. You’re not being “taken” anywhere. Instead, we work with your body and your nervous system to gently access what the unconscious is ready to reveal - at a pace that feels safe for you.
You’re not reliving trauma. You’re not being hypnotised. You’re being held in a safe, regulated space while your body does what it’s been wanting to do all along - release, integrate, and heal.
-
I’v been where you are. Stuck in patterns I couldn’t name, trying everything but still not feeling okay. Through my own healing, I found acceptance, calmness, and peace. Not perfection - but the ability to handle life without falling apart. I work somatically, not just cognitively, and I pace with your nervous system - never pushing.
I lead with lived experience, formal training, deep compassion, and zero judgement. I know what it takes to get here.
-
No. You don’t need to relive or retell the story. Root-Cause Therapy works with the body and nervous system to gently release what’s stuck - without re-traumatising you.

This depends on your goals. Some clients feel significant shifts after just one session, depending on previous work they have done. While others benefit from a series of sessions to work through deeper patterns. We can discuss this together in your discovery call or after your first session.
